Thomas Jackson

November 15, 1946 — December 30, 2018

On Sunday, December 30, 2018, Thomas Linton Jackson, loving husband and father, lost his long-term battle with congestive heart failure, at 72. Thomas, known by his family as "Tommy", was born November 15, 1946 in Lumberton, NC to "Connie" Covington and Linton Woodrow Jackson. In 1987, he married Ginny Francis making him an instant family man which he embraced whole heartedly. Tom was a driven provider for his family; they were a source of great pride and joy for him. In his early years, he was an apparel recruiter and his love of the industry drove him to start his own textile businesses. His entrepreneurship revolutionized the apparel industry.

Tom was an avid Tarheel and Panthers fan, enjoyed golfing with his closest friends, bay fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, barbecuing and shagging to Beach music. His greatest Love for all who knew him were his wife and two daughters.

Tom was the first in his family to achieve Eagle Scout status, with his nephews following suit. He was a cub reporter for the Lumberton Post and represented them at the World's Fair NYC in 1964. Hardworking and caring with a large personality, he was always willing to help friends and family.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Ginny, daughters Stacey and Leslie of Charlotte, brother Rev Dr. Jerry Jackson of Fayetteville, sisters Debbie Powers and Judy Seals of Lumberton, along with six beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
