Michael Eugene Bryant

Michael “Mike” Eugene Bryant died Saturday, January 29, 2022 at age 65 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends before the funeral from 12:00-2:00 p.m in the fellowship hall.

Mike was born on January 13, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia and was a son of the late Eugene Talmadge Bryant and Helen Smart Bryant. He served in the U.S. Air Force. After he left the military, he started a career in the construction industry. Mike was a devoted son, father, brother, and friend. In his free time, he loved riding his Harley Davidson and listening to the Beatles and Rolling Stones. He never missed an opportunity to be on a dance floor. Mike was also a faithful Christian who loved the Lord and laid the foundation for his children to have a relationship with Jesus.

Mike’s greatest title was being a father. He lived his life dedicated to his children. He never missed a sporting event or a phone call, and he spent his weekends visiting them and his “puppies,” Rookie, Millie, and Bean. Mike will be remembered for his contagious smile, selfless spirit, and flawless dance moves. 

Mike is survived by his daughter, Lisa Bryant, and his son, Phillip Bryant (Lauren), both of Charlotte. His sister, Kim Goode of Rock Hill, and his brother, Terry Bryant (Lisa) of Phoenix, Arizona. Mike will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Drew Goode (Samm), Quincy Goode, Madison Goode, Remy Goode, and Marta Bryant. Mike was thrilled to be a “Papa'' in July and to welcome his first granddaughter. 

Mike left us way too soon and the hole left by his absence will be impossible to fill. We rejoice that he will be reunited with his parents in Heaven. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Rolling Thunder Charities.
