Linda Joyce Hayes Lewis Deaton "Mama Joyce" CHARLOTTE - Linda Joyce "Mama Joyce" Hayes Lewis Deaton, 73, died Saturday, April 25, 2015, peacefully at her home. Born February 21, 1942 in Horry County, SC; she was the daughter of the late Wilford Atlas Hayes and Mary Fleetie McDaniels Hayes. She was preceded in death by her first husband James Edwards Lewis, and her second husband Bobby Gene Deaton, and their son Robert Deaton, and her brother Leo Hayes. Survivors include sons Milton Clayton Lewis (Sherry) of Aynor, SC and Jimmy (Jim) Atlas Kay Lewis, Sr. (Jim Matthews) of Oakland Park, Florida; daughters Carla Faye Daniels (Dan) of Marion, SC, Debra Wilson (Gary) of Statesville, NC and Barbara Ann Deaton of Monroe, NC. She is blessed with nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and had numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was an active member of her church and never met a stranger that she didn't hug and love unconditionally. She had numerous others that she called her (boys and girls) family.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:30 PM on Wednesday, April 29th, at the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) of Charlotte Chapel with Pastor Catherine Houchins officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 30th, in Midway Cemetery on Hwy. 76 in Mullins, SC. Memorials may be made to MCC Church, 1825 Eastway Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. The family of Mrs. Deaton is being served by Carolina Mortuary Service & Cremation.
