Jerrie Magarian died on 10/30/25

Jerry Lynne Alderson Magarian (Jerrie) 83, of Concord NC passed away on 10/30/25.

Jerrie was born in Tulsa Oklahoma. Her family moved to the San Francisco Bay area when she was young. And lived in San Lorenzo CA. She went to San Lorenzo High School.

Jerrie lived in Sparks NV for quite a few years. She worked in the Casinos as a cashier & as Bingo mgr. Jerrie said she learned that there were 2 types of gamblers. People who were lucky & people like her who were not so lucky!

She had many diff jobs but ended up working for The Hartford Insurance Co. which she loved for 23. years. She was a traveling trainer for quite a while , and would have long assignments that took her all over the country. She decided she didn’t want to keep traveling & missing out on being home. The Hartford took Jerrie & Denise to live in Philadelphia PA, Fort Wayne IN & Concord NC. It was an adventure for sure! Jerrie & Denise met a lot of wonderful people at the Hartford some of which she considered family.

Jerrie was a long time member of MCC Long Beach, HSF Long Beach & MCC Charlotte NC. Again through these churches Jerrie met a lot of wonderful people that were family of choice.

Jerrie was very patriotic. She loved fishing, shot glasses, church, sports, WNBA & women’s sports, football & San Francisco 49’ers! She was also a big fan of music, movies & especially Christmas movies. She loved having people over for holidays and pool parties. And it was disappointing when we couldn’t do that any longer.

She is survived by her loving wife, Denise Y. Carroll; cousins Betty Joyce Bubose and the Cox family; Dick Schmitz, Gretchen Schmitz, Karen Schmitz, and the Schmitz family; as well as all of the Carroll family. She is also survived by Bella Magarian-Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nevin & Mary Kay Alderson, and her sister Judy Ann Alderson, and Loreli Choi.

A memorial will be held on 12/6/25 at 11am, it will be at the Morning Star Chapel: 12900 Idlewild Road Rev. Catherine Houchins will be performing the service.
