Janis Imelda Houston

Janis Imelda Houston passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023.  Janis was born on January 18, 1941 in Raleigh, NC to Robert Harris Houston and Cecilia Mary Houston.  She attended Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh and both Peace and Coker Colleges.  She lived most of her adult life in Charlotte, NC in a beautiful, well-appointed bungalow cottage on Vail Ave.  Janis worked for Wells Fargo (and its predecessors) for most of her professional career.  Once retired, she worked for a local antique dealer in Charlotte, fostering her passion for appreciating and collecting antique furniture.  Janis adored and remained close throughout her life with her childhood friends, in particular Carey Oliver McFadyen and Gail McClamroch Veasey.  She spent many summers with them both at Carey’s cottage on Atlantic Beach.  Janis was a part of the McFadyen and Veasey families, and she will be greatly missed by them and many of her friends who remember her as the kind and beautiful person she was.
