Cortez Dillon Gaskins

Cortez Dillon Gaskins, also known as Bud, passed away on December 9, 2023, in Charlotte, NC at the age of 90. He was born on January 4, 1933 in Black Mountain, NC. Bud will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his surviving children Betty Ross Gaskins and Philip D. Gaskins and his grandchildren.

Bud graduated from North Carolina State University and was a lifelong Wolfpack fan. He was also a passionate Braves Baseball fan, and was happiest when the team was winning.

The family will gather for a private scattering of ashes at a later time to honor Bud’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support macular degeneration research at the National Eye Institute.  Please send a check donation with a letter stating that the donation for macular degeneration research is in memory of Bud Gaskins, 4215 Montibello Drive, Charlotte, NC 28226.  Donations can be sent to:
