Christy Lynn Johnson

April 23, 1969 - May 20, 2019

Christy Lynn Johnson, 50, of Charlotte, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Monday due to an extended illness at Pineville hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Mike Johnson and Carol Vallei.

Surviving is her mother and father; three children, Zak Venturato, Ciera Venturato and Carlie Venturato; three grandchildren, Gulianna Venturato, Alaria Venturato and Santino Venturato-Miller; a brother, Mike Johnson; two sisters, Amber Hoff and Jina Costa; her grandmother, Ethel Vallei; and a long time friend, Jamie Swiger.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, John Vallei.

She was a graduate of Altoona Area High School in 1987 and the Altoona School of Commerce. Christy was an industrial engineer for 20 years at the Danaher-Kavo Kerr company which includes Veeder Root and Pelton & Crane.

Christy enjoyed watching movies with her children, shopping, cooking, doing arts and crafts for the seasons, and her all time favorite, bingo and lottery tickets. Most of all she enjoyed being a loving mother and grandmother.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-9pm Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Committal at Calvary Cemetery.
