Charles Martin “Marty” McDaniel
71 yrs old
February 15, 1955 – April 11, 2026
of Kings Mountain, NC, stepped into the arms of his Lord on April 11, 2026. He passed peacefully at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.
Born in McAdenville, NC, to the late Charles Alden McDaniel and Doris Jean Coleman McDaniel, Marty grew up with a heart for his community. A graduate of South Point High School, he dedicated his professional life to the protection of others—first serving as a Police Officer for the City of Gastonia and later retiring as a Nuclear Security Specialist for Duke Energy.
Even in his "spare" time, Marty was rarely still. He was a fixture at DTS Towing, where he could be found with grease on his hands and a kind word on his lips, fixing cars and offering seasoned mechanical advice to anyone who needed a helping hand.
Above all, Marty was a man of simple, profound joys. He found his greatest peace in the presence of his wife, Anita, whether they were feeling the salt air at the beach, worshipping at church, or sitting quietly on his porch lost in the pages of his Bible. His faith was the compass of his life, and his family was his greatest treasure.
Marty leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by:
His beloved wife of 16 years: Anita McDaniel.
His children: Matthew McDaniel, Thomas McDaniel, Jerray Efird, and Amanda Brown (Daniel).
His grandchildren: Elaina Efird, Fischer Brown, and Littie Brown, who were the lights of his life.
His sister: Kayy Duncan (Bobby).
His nephews: Robert Christopher, Brandon, Michael Duncan and Jason McDaniel and niece Jessica McDaniel Brooks (Mark).
He now joins his parents, his brother Dwight Blake McDaniel, and his niece Barbara Ann McDaniel in eternal rest.
