Brenda Barnhill (Mimi), 74, was greeted by her Heavenly Father with “Well done, good and faithful servant!” on March 31, 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
She was born October 16, 1945 in Gaston County and the daughter of the late Aliene Smith.
In addition to her mother she was proceeded in death by her grandparents Gordon and Dorothy Wilson. She attended Ashley High School, worked at Pharr Yarns for many years before retiring early to care for others. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell, where she sang in the choir, was a member of WMU and served on various committees. Brenda truly loved the Lord.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband of 54 years, Jim Barnhill; Children Angie Frye, Beth Greene (Kevin), Tim Barnhill (Lisa); Grandchildren Ryan Taylor, Mandy Whitaker (JD), Heather Baucom, Hanson Barnhill; Great grandchildren Colby Morgenstern, Easton And Jaxon Whitaker; Special children who also called her Mimi, Logan and Quinlan Dean.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Reza Nazemzadeh and the staff at Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte.
Due to the current situation of the world the family will hold a service at a later date to be announced.
