John Fults

October 4, 1993 — September 16, 2018

Charlotte

John Mason Fults, 24, was a bright, vibrant, kind young man who cared deeply for others. He had a unique sense of humor; his intelligent dry wit delighted many while confounding a few. His warm heart and gracious outlook always showed through his cool demeanor. He supported many people through their battles with addiction as part of the Mecklenburg County Young People in AA. After nearly six years of sobriety, he lost his own battle and passed from us on September 15.
Mason had a quick body as well as a quick mind. He excelled at soccer and played with Charlotte Soccer Club, Charlotte United, and the North Carolina Olympic Development Program. He attended Holy Trinity Middle School and Charlotte Catholic High School.
Mason studied history at Chaffey College and business at CPCC. He was enjoying a successful career as the manager of a carwash location.
Mason is survived by his loving parents, Hope Root and John Fults, his best friend and brother, Clay Fults, his grandmother Vivian Fults Middleton, five aunts and uncles, and many other family and friends. He was the adored youngest cousin of seven boys. He was preceded in death by grandparents Clay M. Fults and Mimi Root.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm on September 22, 2018, in the Mission Center at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211. Doors open at 3:00. Casual attire is suggested. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mason Fults memorial fund at the Queen City Needle Exchange. This is a cause that Mason was passionate about. To donate go to https://preventionservices. org/cart/ – in the check-out notes please include "For QCNE, in honor of Mason.”
