Doris Nixon Hamilton passed 08/15/2017 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her son Fred E. Handsel Jr. and his life partner Benjamin Bellante, and step-son Tim Hamilton, as well as her 2 sisters Louise Cowart of Stanley and Melissa Weiss of Hickory and numerous nieces and nephews, and granddogs that she loved very dearly.

Doris was a faithful and dedicated servant to her Lord and church. She loved all, was loved by all, and never met a stranger.

Receiving of family and friends will be at Free Will Baptist Church in Stanley, NC on 08/18/2017 starting at 10 am and ending 11 am. Service will be held at the same location from 11am and ending at noon. Burial will follow immediately afterwards with procession to Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery on Hwy 27 Mount Holly, NC.
