Mr. Anthony J. Marasco, age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Matthews, NC.

Tony was born on April 4, 1929 in Archbald, PA to Anthony and Anna (Schuttert) Marasco.

Tony was employed with IBM for 32 years.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  During his retirement, Tony enjoyed his time with the Mint Hill Investment Club and was their secretary for eight years. He also loved watching birds in his backyard.

Tony married Pauline Schnatterer on May 17, 1958 in Newark, NJ and resided in New Jersey until 1968 when they moved to Hyde Park, NY.  They lived in Hyde Park until 2000, when they moved to Matthews, NC to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Tony was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Schnatterer) Marasco and his sister Rosemarie (Marasco) Booth.  He is survived by his three children, Paul Marasco, Apex, NC: Lynn Kulikowski and husband Gregg, Mint Hill, NC and their children Cristopher (wife Deanna), Scott, John, and Matthew; Kim Ogden and husband Jay, Fort Mill, SC and their children Morgan and Nicholas. Tony is also survived by his brother, Eugene Marasco and wife Edith of Mt. Airy, MD and his great grandchildren, Hope Kulikowski, Amelia Kulikowski, and Vivian Kulikowski.

A chapel service for Tony will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Morning Star Lutheran Chapel, 12900 Idlewild Road, Matthews NC 28105 at 1:00pm.  Inurnment will follow in the chapel columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anthony J. Marasco can be made to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St, New York, NY  10014 (action.audubon.org) or Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA  18901 (www.DementiaSociety.org/donate).

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the many people who provided excellent care for their Dad, Tony, especially Dr. J, George Thomas and his team at Carolinas Rehabilitation, the many caregivers that helped along the way, especially Agora LLC and Affordable Home Care, the staff at Pruitt Health Union Pointe, and the staff at Legacy Heights Assisted Living.
